STONES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT FOR GOD'S BUILDING
1. MATERIALS IN THE RIVER
  
  Genesis 2:11-12
  1. The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one that goes around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.
  2. And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.
2. THE TABERNACLE
  
  Exodus 26:29-30
  1. And you shall overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold as holders for the bars; and you shall overlay the bars with gold.
  2. And you shall set up the tabernacle according its plan, which you were shown in the mountain.
3. THE SHOULDER PLATES
  
  Exodus 28:9, 12
  1. And you shall take two onyx stones and engrave on them the names of the sons of Israel,
  1. And you shall put the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel. And Aaron shall bear their names before Jehovah on his two shoulders for a memorial.
4. THE BREASTPLATE OF JUDGMENT
  
  Exodus 28:15, 17-21
  1. And you shall make a breastplate of judgment, the work of a skillful workman; like the work of the ephod you shall make it; of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet strands, and of fine twined linen you shall make it.
  1. And you shall enclose in it enclosures of stones, four rows of stones: the first row shall be a row of a sardius, a topaz, and an emerald;
  2. And the second row, a carbuncle, a sapphire, and a diamond;

  4. And the fourth row, a chrysolite, and an onyx, and a jasper; they shall be set in gold in their enclosures.
  5. And the stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve, according to their names; they shall be like the engravings of a signet, each according to its name, for the twelve tribes.
5. THE TEMPLE
  
  1 Kings 6:7, 21-22, 30, 36
  1. And the house, when it was being built, was built of finished stone, cut at the quarry, so that neither hammer nor ax nor any iron tool was heard in the house when it was being built.
  1. And Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold; and he drew gold chains before the innermost sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold.
  2. So he overlaid all the house with gold, until all the house was complete; and the whole altar, which belonged to the innermost sanctuary, he overlaid with gold.
  1. And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, in both the inner chamber and the outer one.
  1. And he built the inner court with three courses of hewn stone and a course of cedar beams.
6. THE HEAD STONE OF THE CORNER
  
  Psalm 118:22
  The stone which the builders rejected Has become the head of the corner.
7. THE FOUNDATION STONE AND CORNER–STONE
  
  Isaiah 28:16
  Therefore thus says The Lord Jehovah: Indeed I lay a stone in Zion as a foundation, A tested stone, A precious cornerstone as a foundation firmly established; He who believes will not hasten away.
8. THE STONE WITH SEVEN EYES
  
  Zechariah 3:9
  For here is the stone that I have set before Joshua—upon one stone are seven eyes. I will engrave its engraving, declares Jehovah of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.
9. THE TOP STONE
  
  Zechariah 4:7
  Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain, and he will bring forth the topstone with shouts of Grace, grace to it.
STONES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT FOR GOD'S BUILDING
1. THE FOUNDATION
  
  1 Corinthians 3:10-11
  1. According to the grace of God given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid a foundation, and another builds upon it. But let each man take heed how he builds upon it.
  2. For another foundation no one is able to lay besides that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
2. CHRIST AS THE LIVING STONE
  
  1 Peter 2:4
  Coming to Him, a living stone, rejected by men but with God chosen and precious,
3. THE CORNERSTONE
  
  Matthew 21:42
  Jesus said to them, Have you never read in the Scriptures, “The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the head of the corner. This was from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes”?
  
  Acts 4:11
  This is the stone which was considered as nothing by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.
  
  Ephesians 2:20

7. THE OVERCOMERS RECEIVING A WHITE STONE
  
  Revelation 2:17
  He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and to him I will give a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knows except him who receives it.
8. GOD HAVING THE APPEARANCE OF A JASPER STONE AND A SARDIUS
  
  Revelation 4:3
  And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance, and there was a rainbow around the throne like an emerald in appearance.
9. THE BUILDING MATERIAL OF THE NEW JERUSALEM
  
  Revelation 21:11, 18-21
  1. Having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, as clear as crystal.
  1. And the building work of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
